Christchurch police are hunting for a man who assaulted a 21-year-old woman as she walked to work this morning.
Detective Sergeant Mike Freeman said the woman was walking near Northlands Shopping Centre this morning, before a man approached her.
Mr Freeman said the pair had an altercation before the woman ran into the Housing New Zealand building on Restell Street.
He says the woman was not seriously harmed and is now being questioned by the police.
The street is now blocked off while police investigate what happened.
Mr Freeman said police don't yet have a description of the man.
