Emergency services in Northland are at the scene of a fatal crash on State Highway 12 near Paparoa.
One person has died and two are injured - one with serious and one with moderate injuries.
Diversions are being put in place at the Paparoa-Oakleigh Road and Griffin Road.
Police said the detour would add considerable time to journeys and asked motorists to be patient.
A person has also died after a crash in Waikato.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Tahae Road in Mangakino about 4pm.
