There is heavy congestion on Auckland's southern motorway this morning, after part of the city-bound route was closed for several hours by a serious crash.

The crash happened just before 2.30am, near the Drury off-ramp.
One person was taken to Middlemore Hospital in a critical condition. Two people sustained moderate injuries and another had minor injuries.
The motorway between Ramarama and Drury re-opened about 6am, but traffic remains heavy in the area.
NZTA is warning that there is still some congestion between Bombay and Ramarama.
