9:11 pm on 11 February 2018

Police in Hamilton are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man over an early morning assault on a woman.

A man approached a woman in her early 20s on Grey Street about 2am and dragged her into his dark-coloured sedan, they said.

He assaulted her and left her on the roadside.

She is shaken, and is being helped by Victim Support, police said.

The man is described as Māori, about 30, with short hair and wearing a black jumper.

Police want to speak to anyone in the area at the time, or whose property has CCTV footage of the Grey Street area between Anzac Parade and the dip by the Hamilton East Primary School.
