Police have confirmed a body was found in the burnt-out remains of a house truck in Lake Hāwea near Wanaka yesterday.
The scene examination of the truck, which had a lean-to and was immobile, has been completed by police and fire investigators.
Police said the remains discovered in the dwelling, in Domain Road, were human.
The fire is not suspicious.
The remains are being sent to Christchurch for post-mortem and to be formally identified.
