Holden is recalling about 1000 of its utes in New Zealand so it can fix faulty tailgate latches.
Dealers will be in touch with Commodore owners soon, and the work will be carried out free of charge.
Holden says drivers should secure loose items in the cargo tray until the utes are repaired.
In March, the company had to recall nearly 500 Cruze sedans so mechanics could check for fuel leaks.
The ABC reports Holden in Australia has announced a recall of more than 34,000 vehicles. The recall affects Commodore VE ute models produced from 2007.
