Two people are dead after their vehicle rolled on a farm near Stratford in Taranaki.
Emergency services were called to the crash on private farmland in the Whangamomona Valley, shortly before 4pm this afternoon
The two people in the car died at the scene. Police are still in the process of formally identifying them.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
Meanwhile, a driver suffered serious injuries when a car flipped on the Southern Motorway near the Takanini off ramp in Auckland.
Police were called to the crash on State Highway One shortly before 7pm.
The driver was taken to Middlemore Hospital.
The southbound lanes between Takanini and Papakura will be closed while the motorway is cleared, with southbound traffic diverted via Great South Road.
