Two people are dead in separate house fires in the North Island.
One person died after a blaze at a property in Hawke's Bay.
Fire and Emergency were called to Kiwi Road in Wairoa about 10.30pm yesterday.
They said the house was burning fiercely when crews arrived, with one person inside.
And another person is dead after a house fire in Auckland this morning.
Emergency services were called to Rustic Avenue in Mount Roskill at about 6am.
Both fires are being investigated.
