Christchurch police are investigating the sudden death of a woman in the suburb of Bishopdale overnight.

Emergency services were called to an address in Charnwood Crescent at 2.40am.
A police spokesperson said officers found the body of a woman in her 30s.
The death is being treated as unexplained.
Police have secured the scene, and a scene examination is now underway.
The Coroner has been advised.
