Out-of-control teens: Paintball gun fired at police

Waikato Police donned full riot gear to disperse large groups of out of control youths last night and on Friday night.

In Huntly on Friday night, local police were called out to deal with about 30 teenagers fighting in the street.

When police arrived the youths began throwing bottles and a paintball gun was fired at them.

The teenagers left after police arrived from Hamilton in riot gear.

No arrests were made.

In the second disturbance, in Hamilton last night, police were called to an out of control party which took 90 minutes to disband.

Police faced a barrage of bottles and 14 young adults were arrested.

No police were injured in either altercation.
