Child stuck in ceiling at Starship Hospital rescued

Firefighters have rescued a child stuck in a ceiling at Auckland's Starship Hospital.

Fire and Emergency was called to the hospital at about 8am to help get the the child out.

The Auckland District Health Board said the child is now out and safe.

Earlier, a Fire and Emergency spokesperson said the child climbed into the ceiling some time overnight.

It's unclear how the child got into the ceiling.
