A man was injured after crashing his car into a power pole during a police pursuit in Dunedin this morning.
The man sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Dunedin Hospital's emergency department by ambulance.
Police said the chase was sparked by a family harm incident earlier in the morning.
Officers had tried to stop the man's vehicle at 8.14am.
"The vehicle fled police on Quarry Rd and crashed into a power pole after a very short time," Senior Sergeant Rebecca Hill said.
"No other vehicles were involved and no one else was injured in the incident.
"Police are speaking to the driver."
