Dairy owner injured in robbery

A dairy owner in Gore was injured as he tried to fight off three balaclava-clad robbers - one wielding a machete.

Police said three young men entered the Coutts Road dairy around 7.30pm yesterday.

The shop attendant tried to fight them off and in the struggle had his hand cut.

The robbers fled down Lock Street and onto Irving Street.

Police are asking for information about any sightings of three young men wearing balaclavas and with dark backpacks. One of the men was wearing a light green hoodie; the other two were wearing dark hoodies.
