6:18 pm on 22 June 2010

Kapiti police are still looking for people involved with the disappearance of Paekakariki man Raymond Piper.

Three people appeared in Porirua District Court on Tuesday on charges relating to Mr Piper's disappearance.

Mr Piper, 23, also known as Son, went missing from Paraparaumu on the morning of 15 May.

Ainsley Anderson, 51, who is unemployed, is charged with being a party to Mr Piper's murder, which is said to have occurred between 15 May and 8 June. He was remanded until 15 July.

A woman, 44, from Paraparaumu, and a man, 50, from Tauranga who have interim name suppression, are charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They were remanded until 13 July.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Oxnam says the public response has been huge and the information received leads police to believe that others were involved in Mr Piper's disappearance.

He says they are still no closer to discovering Mr Piper's body.

Police are still appealing for sightings of vehicles seized during the investigation.

They include a dark-green Mazda Marvie, a dark red Nissan Bluebird and a grey Toyota Corolla.
