A lawyer has been sentenced to 10 months home detention for his role in a fraud in an Auckland hotel development.
Timothy Upton Slack pleaded guilty this month to a charge of obtaining by deception.
He is one of four men charged in a case taken by the Serious Fraud Office.
They were accused of making false statements to get a $40 million loan for a company, Emily Projects, to develop the Waldorf Celestion Apartment Hotel in Anzac Avenue.
Property developer Leonard John Ross, company director Michael James Wehipeihana and consultant Vaughn Stephen Foster will face trial in June next year.
