A woman who fell into a septic tank in her backyard in Whenuapai, north of Auckland, has been rescued by firefighters.
Five fire service trucks were called to help the woman in Kauri Road at about 3pm.
Fire and Emergency said the woman was standing on the septic tank when the lid collapsed and she fell halfway in with the lid pinning her leg down.
She was only partially submerged in the tank.
She was extracted from the tank at about 4.30pm, and is being assessed by paramedics.
It is understood she has an ankle injury.
