Police investigating a suspicious death at a rowdy party in Auckland early yesterday want to speak to three men who helped the dying man.

The 25-year-old was found in a critical condition in the driveway of a Three Kings house.

Ambulance staff tried to resuscitate him, but he died at the scene.

Police said they wanted to speak to three men, believed to be aged between 18 and 25, who tried to help the man and put him in the recovery position.

Detective Inspector Aaron Pascoe said they would be able to help officers work out what happened.

"These three stayed with him and continued to assist after others had left and I am confident they will be able to help us to piece together exactly what has occurred, this group will know who they are and we really need their help."

Police are also looking for the occupants of a grey Audi four-door sedan, who left the house shortly before the police arrived.
