Four trampers feared missing in the wild weather in the Tararua Ranges have been found safe and well.
Police said the four experienced trampers hadn't returned to their car at Putara Road about 2pm yesterday.
Officers said the four were caught up in the bad weather and had since made it to safety.
The trampers had plenty of warm clothes, equipment and a personal locator beacon, police said.
Meanwhile, a larger group of trampers have also made it out of the Rimutaka Forest Park, after rising rivers meant they couldn't drive out yesterday.
