A worker has been injured trying to stop armed robbers taking cash and cigarettes from a service station west of Auckland.
Police said two men turned up at the BP in Kumeu in a stolen car just after 6am, one armed with a screwdriver.
The service station attendant tried to stop one of the robbers, suffering injuries to his hands.
He was taken to North Shore Hospital with moderate injuries.
Police have charged a 16-year-old with aggravated robbery, and a number of other counts.
They were still looking for the second man, who drove off in the stolen car.
