A person has died after being trapped under a tree in Northland.

Emergency services were called to a rural property on Mataraua Road in Kaikohe shortly before 3pm.
Police said a 32-year-old man died at the scene, which was only accessible by 4WD.
WorkSafe has been advised and the death has been referred to the Coroner.
