One person has died overnight in a house fire in the Waikato town of Tirau.
It took four crews 30 minutes to contain the fire which broke out in a single-storey Little Street house at about 3.30am.
The Fire Service said the dead person was found during a search of the house.
Police and the fire service are investigating the blaze.
