A one-year-old boy is in a critical condition after falling into a pond at the Hastings showgrounds this afternoon.
People nearby pulled him from the water and performed CPR until ambulance paramedics arrived.
He is now in Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital, where a police spokesperson said his condition was listed as critical but responsive.
