A severe weather warning's in place for Coromandel and the east of the North Island.
The MetService says heavy falls of rain are possible in the Coromandel ranges, and western Bay of Plenty from late Monday morning.
That rain will spread to eastern Bay of Plenty and Gisborne north of about Ruatoria from late Monday afternoon through to Tuesday morning.
