A pedestrian has been hit by a car near a shopping centre in Tauranga.
It happened near the Bayfair Shopping Centre roundabout shortly before two this afternoon.
Police said the person had suffered serious injuries but they were not life-threatening.
One eastbound lane was closed while emergency services responded to the crash.
Police were asking motorists to expect delays and take particular care in the area, as a large number of pedestrians were coming and going from the Bay Dreams festival at nearby Baypark Arena.
