A motorcyclist is dead following a crash with two cars on SH1 near Gore this afternoon, bringing the holiday road toll up to 10.
The crash happened on Waipahi Highway at Pukerau, at about 4pm, and the road will be closed while the Serious Crash Unit investigates.
Diversions were in place.
It was the third fatal crash involving a motorcycle and cars this holiday season.
The total was now just two short of last year's entire holiday toll, with eight days left.
