A man at the centre of a police hunt in the South Island has been found.

Police had been searching for Raymond Hemi and warned the public he should not be approached.
Earlier they said he was as believed to be hitch-hiking around Canterbury.
When searching for him police said had last been seen in Rangiora about 12pm yesterday.
He had since been found in central Christchurch, they said.
