A man who suffered moderate injuries when he fell from the Taieri train has left hospital.
The chief executive of the Taieri Gorge Railway, Murray Bond, says it appears a man slipped from a viewing platform while the train was stationary at a scenic viewing spot.
He was flown to Dunedin Hospital, where he was treated and discharged.
Mr Bond says staff will be reviewing safety procedures to ensure a similar incident does not happen again.
He says train services were back to normal within hours of the incident, which happened just before 11am on Saturday.
