Honda linked to Te Kaha crash found burnt-out

A vehicle believed to have been involved in a crash that killed a motorcyclist has been found burnt-out on the banks of the Raukokore River.

Don Turei Junior, 38, from Tawera, died at the scene, near Te Kaha, on Saturday.

Mr Turei and his brother, who was travelling on another motorbike, were on their way to a wedding reception when the crash occurred.

It was believed Mr Turei was hit by a white Honda, which immediately left the scene of the crash.

The police would like to speak to anyone who has knowledge about the vehicle or how it came to be burnt-out, or saw it driving in the area between 2pm and 3pm on Saturday.
