A 21-year-old man goes on trial today after the death of a teenage girl in a hit and run in King Country in April.

Broc Kawhena from Te Kuiti is accused of the manslaughter of Ocean Heke.
The 17-year-old was found dead on State Highway 3 in Otorohanga after attending a party.
Her injuries were consistent with being hit by a vehicle.
Mr Kawhena first appeared in court charged with manslaughter three days after Ms Heke died.
His trial before a jury is due to open this morning in the High Court in Hamilton.
