A large blaze in the roof of a popular West Auckland restaurant spot is now contained and almost out.
About 30 firefighters were called to The Brickworks - a large one-storey building housing restaurants and a cinema in New Lynn's LynnMall - just after 7pm.
A Fire Service spokesperson said four trucks were still at the scene, as well as a fire investigator.
It was not known what caused the fire, but it was thought to have started above the Goode Brothers bar and restaurant.
The mall has been evacuated.
