A brief police pursuit has ended with the fleeing driver trapped in his car at a south Auckland motorway on-ramp with serious injuries.
Police said the five-minute chase came to a halt just after 6.30pm, when the driver crashed on the Puhini Road State Highway 20 on-ramp near Manurewa.
Emergency services have been working to free the driver, who has serious injuries.
The incident will be referred to the Independent Police Conduct Authority, and the Serious Crash Unit has also been notified.
