Police are looking for two men dressed as clowns who attacked a young woman in Hamilton overnight.
The 22-year-old woman suffered moderate injuries after being assaulted while walking home along Memorial Drive about 3.15am, the police said.
They described it as a very frightening experience for the woman, and said they wanted to find the offenders as soon as possible to stop any further attacks.
They were keen to speak to the people in a white van seen in the area at the time, and anyone who saw two men dressed as clowns overnight in the city.
Several incidents of people dressed as clowns frightening members of the public have recently been reported in the US and UK.
