Two people have died after a crash on State Highway 1 south of Tokoroa.

Police say the crash between a truck and car happened about 8.30am near the town of Kinleith.
A St John Ambulance spokesperson said two people had died and another was taken to Tokoroa Hospital with moderate injuries.
Diversions were in place northbound at Ongaroto Road and southbound at Campbell Road.
