A pedestrian has died after a serious crash in Rolleston near Christchurch this morning.
Police said a 48-year-old man was struck by a car on Newtons Road about 7am.
They said his next of kin were being notified and the serious crash unit was investigating.
Newtons Road was partly blocked and diversions were in place.
