Armed intruders hit two Christchurch hotels

Two Christchurch hotels have been hit by masked intruders with guns today and police are investigating whether they are linked.

The first incident happened at the Embankment Tavern on Ferry Road at 8.49am. Masked intruders with firearms entered the bar and then left in a car driven by another person.

At 10.25am, robbers hit O'Sheas bar on Marshland Road. Masked men with firearms threatened staff and took cash. They were seen driving off in a white station wagon.

No one was injured.

Police have asked anyone with information about the robberies to phone police on 03 363 7400 or provide information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
