A tourist missing in the West Coast's Paparoa National Park since Saturday has been found alive.
The 28-year-old British man, who is in New Zealand on a working holiday, set out from Punakaiki for a day walk up Mt Bovis on Saturday morning but never returned.
Police said the man was found by search and rescue teams this afternoon near Bovis Creek.
The man would be taken by helicopter to Grey Base Hospital, where he would be assessed for mild hypothermia, they said.
His family were travelling to New Zealand and were due to arrive on the West Coast tomorrow.
Inspector Mel Aitken said during the search that the man was wearing light clothing and was only carrying a day pack.
Two helicopters and 15 ground searchers had been looking for the man, she said.
"We've had a number of ground teams deployed inland from Punakaiki covering the tracks and trails that lead up and around Mt Bovis," she said.
"We've also had some air searches conducted as well."
