People have taken to social media complaining that the 2degrees mobile network appears to be down.
Is the @2degreesmobile service down in Auckland? None of my text messages are going through?

Many people throughout the country say they can't send or receive text messages or make phone calls.
The telco confirmed it was experiencing issues with calls, texts and its website, and that the problem with its network was nationwide.
We are currently experiencing nationwide issues with calls and texts. Out teams are working on it at the highest priority.
