A stretch of State Highway 1, north of Auckland, will be closed on Tuesday night to allow officials to the retrieval of a transporter truck that slid down a bank.
The emergency closure takes effect on the road between Warkworth and Hatfields Beach from 9pm on Tuesday till 5am on Wednesday.
A large crane and crews will be working through the night. Detours will be in place.
The Transport Agency says drivers should make only essential trips and allow up to one hour extra for their journey.
