A man has been charged with the murder of a three-month-old baby in Tauranga.
Richard Royal Arif Tekakahi Winiata Uddin died in Tauranga Hospital on 7 June, after being brought there by his mother.
Police, who had been investigating the death as a homicide, said in a statement that a 22-year-old man had been arrested and would appear in the Tauranga District Court on Wednesday.
The man faces seven additional charges of assault on a child.
