The Fire Service says there's very little left of a lodge on Mount Ruapehu following a blaze on Monday night.
It took five appliances more than three hours to put out the fire.
The Fire Service says it appears no one was staying at the two-storey lodge owned by the Royal New Zealand Forest & Bird Society.
