Leaky home owners have little confidence in officials

The Home Owners and Buyers Association says leaky home owners have little confidence in the people trying to find a solution to the crisis.

The Cabinet is to consider a paper looking at options for resolving the leaky homes crisis, at a cost of between $11 billion and $23 billion.

However, the association says it is concerned any financial rescue package by the Government will have strings attached to it.

The association represents many leaky home owners.

President John Gray says he welcomes news the Government may be putting a loan scheme in place.

He appreciates the Government has an enormous problem on its hands, but worries it has choked on the size of it.

Mr Gray says he has no idea what the Government's timeframe is.
