A high school student has appeared in the Christchurch District Court on two charges of aggravated robbery following hold-ups at two banks.
John Anthony Fraser, 17, is accused of using an imitation Glock BB gun to intimidate bank tellers at banks in Cathedral Square and on Riccarton Road on Monday afternoon.
Judge John Bisphan denied bail on the grounds the charge was "particularly serious and worrying".
The accused was remanded in custody until next week.
