Police in Otago are urging motorists to drive with extreme caution over the Lindis Pass, which was closed briefly by snow early on Saturday afternoon.
Snow ploughs were used to clear the section of State Highway 8 between Forest Range and the Omarama side of the Lindis Pass.
The road is now open but police say motorists need to be vigilant and drive with caution.
