Ranfurly Shield victory parade

A Ranfurly Shield victory parade was held in Wellington on Tuesday.

In beating Auckland on Saturday night by 27-0, the Lions won the Ranfurly Shield for the first time in 26 years.

The parade moved along Lambton Quay and Willis Street before finishing in Civic Square.

The first challenge for the shield is by Tasman on Saturday.

A contingent of Wellington squad members will go to Blenheim on Wednesday for the funeral of coach Jamie Joseph's father, Jim.
