Seven detainees from the Christmas Island detention centre have been flown off the island.
The ABC witnessed the detainees being transported to the Christmas Island airport, following the resolution of two days of unrest at the centre.
The men - who said they were from New Zealand - were all handcuffed, and claimed they were being transported to a prison in Perth.
Australian Immigration Minister Peter Dutton confirmed the transfer of the men, who were being taken to a correctional facility in Western Australia.
"They are among a group of extreme-risk individuals who are alleged to have been involved in the disturbance at the centre," he said.
"The detainees are travelling on a charter flight accompanied by security officers. Restraints are used where appropriate for the safety and security of detainees, staff and the aircraft."
Mr Dutton's office and the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection have released photos showing extensive damage to parts of the detention centre.
