Jailed ex-finance director back in court

A former financial director is looking at more prison time after admitting charges relating to making false statements.

Andrew Hrothgar Robinson, a director of Strategic Planning Group and SPG Investment Company Number One, is already serving a sentence of six years in prison for charges of theft by a person in a special relationship and one of dishonestly using a document.

Today, he was back in the High Court in Auckland where he admitted four charges under the Financial Reporting Act including making false statements and providing brokering services without a license.

Robinson will be sentenced next month.

At his earlier sentencing in July, Justice Muir said Robinson grossly betrayed the trust of investors and robbed many of them of their golden years by stealing $3 million of investor funds in a ponzi scheme.
