Also pictured are the rest of the New Zealand athletes who won medals on Saturday. The paper says in the Olympic village on Sunday rowing Bronze medallist George Bridgewater took hold of cyclist Hayden Roulston's silver medal and told him "Your one looks better than ours".
Dominion Post
The paper chooses Valerie Vili for its main picture, with the headline "Shot of Gold". The Dominion Post says the All Blacks' 19-0 victory over South Africa at the weekend was the icing on the cake for New Zealand. In other news the paper says there's bad news for Winston Peters as he prepares to face the high powered privileges committee over New Zealand First donations. A Fairfax-Nielsen poll says almost half those surveyed want him sacked, and voters also don't want New Zealand First in the next government, regardless of who wins.
The Press
The Press says the greatest day in New Zealand's Olympic Games history has sparked team officials to "optimistically" predict the New Zealand athletes could double their five-medal haul in Beijing. The paper also says heavy snow is on the way for parts of the South Island which have so far escaped some of the deepest falls in more than a decade.
Otago Daily Times
The ODT has a picture of all the New Zealand medallists together on its front page plus photos of some of their medal winning events. In other news the paper says Dunedin Hospital remains under lockdown after another 17 cases of norovirus were reported over the weekend. Outpatient appointments, planned admisssions, and elective surgery are all cancelled on Monday, affecting around 800 patients.
