Ryan Harris and Mitchell Johnson took seven wickets between them to bowl Australia to a tense 12-run win over New Zealand in the second one-day international cricket match in Auckland on Saturday.
Chasing a revised target of 266 from 45 overs in a rain-interrupted match, the Black Caps were bowled out for 253 in 43.2 overs.
The last wicket to fall was the New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori, who scored 70 from 49 balls.
Johnson, despite taunts from the noisy Eden Park crowd, took 4-51 from nine overs and Harris grabbed 3-34 from 8.2 as Australia levelled the five-game series at one-all.
New Zealand opener Brendan McCullum made 24 off 16 balls before being caught by Brad Haddin off the bowling of Johnson.
Peter Ingram made 14 but fell lbw to Harris, and Neil Broom suffered the same fate on the next ball.
James Franklin, batting with a runner, made 2 and was caught by Haddin off Johnson.
Scott Styris joined Martin Guptil to steady the innings, then Guptil fell for 18 to Shane Watson, leaving the Black Caps on 91 for 5 after 17 overs.
Earlier, the Australians made 273 for 7.
Michael Hussey top-scored for the visitors, making 56 off 63 balls.
With figures of 2 for 42, and 2 for 43, Shane Bond and captain Dan Vettori were the best of the New Zealand bowlers.
