Police in Waikato are trying to find a man they describe as a dangerous offender who has breached his parole conditions.
Ernie Paul, 36, has an extensive, violent criminal history and is a known gang associate, they say.
A warrant for his arrest has been issued for his recall to prison.
Paul used to live in Hamilton but is also known to have associates throughout the North Island and a partner in Kawerau.
Police say Paul is extremely violent and should not be approached.
