A former Minister of Justice has failed in a legal challenge to the purchase of land on D'Urville Island by an American couple.
Bill Jeffries was concerned that the Overseas Investment Commission was not properly monitoring the couple's compliance with conditions attached to the land purchase.
But the Court of Appeal has ruled that the conditions imposed on the purchase either required nothing of the couple, or were clearly complied with.
